Dresser Consolidated and Dresser Masoneilan Awarded More than $20 Million in Control Valve Contracts from Nuclear Power Plants in China

Projects include Hongyanghe, Ningde, Yanjiang, Fangjiashan and Fuqing

HOUSTON (June 1st, 2010) – Dresser Consolidated® and Dresser Masoneilan® today announced that they have been awarded more than $20 million in control valve contracts in China as part of a major initiative in the country to fulfill growing energy demands with nuclear-based power.

The Chinese-designed CPR-1000 reactor plants, based on French technology, are under construction in Hongyanghe, Ningde, Yanjiang, Fangjiashan and Fuqing.  The pressurized water reactors will become operational between 2012 and 2016, producing 1,000 MWe each – enough to power around 1 million homes by Western standards.  Dresser Consolidated and Dresser Masoneilan will supply valves, which are an integral part of the nuclear power plants’ conventional islands, and operational service and support for the estimated 60-year life of the reactors.

“For more than 15 years, Dresser has been an active control valve supplier for the nuclear power industry in China,” said Eric Strecker, vice president of sales, Asia Pacific region, Dresser Inc. “Our customers rely on us for our application expertise, aftermarket service and customer-centric approach to developing solutions unique to their individual application needs.”

Dresser Masoneilan is one of the few control valve suppliers in the world that can comply with the full scope of products and stringent certifications required for the nuclear power industry.  The division’s differentiated technologies, such as the V-LOG® and LincolnLog® Energy Management Trim designs, form the ideal control valve solution for general service through severe service applications.  Dresser Masoneilan is also able to provide customers with technical expertise and support at the local level through its global network of fully equipped aftermarket centers.
