The Type 2900 modular pilot-operated safety relief valve (MPV) Pilot-operated safety relief valve combines the full nozzle construction of the Type 1900 main valve design along with the extremely versatile pilot valve options from the 3900 MPV design. Typically provided with a metal-to-metal seat, this pilot-operated safety relief valve can be used over an extremely broad temperature range.

Selection Criteria

The Type 2900 MPV pilot-operated safety relief valve can be used in many of the same applications as the Type 3900 MPV, but is also available in larger sizes, extended temperature ranges and as a direct replacement for existing spring-loaded designs. Flanged inlet and outlet sizes available are 12" and 16" repectively compared to 12" sizes for the Type 3900 MPV. The Type 2900 MPV main valve design is based on the field-proven Dresser Consolidated 1900 SRV body platform, including the same envelope dimensions.

Key Features

The Type 2900 MPV pilot-operated safety relief valve includes a modular pilot valve design and multiple standard pilot configurations to meet various applications with liquids, gases and steam. The operating temperature range can also be extended to -450^oF to +1200^oF (-268^oC to +649^oC) with a heat exchanger. One of the major features of the Type 2900 MPV is the ability to directly replace spring-loaded valves in either new or existing applications.
