Diagnostic Services
Are you interested in significantly reducing your overall maintenance costs and improving plant operating efficiencies?
Masoneilan® Authorized Repair Centers (MARC®) have teamed up to provide the answer to the problem of finding the best method for non-intrusive air operated valve performance testing, diagnostics, and evaluation that meets current industry standards. The ValScope® diagnostic system is an easy-to-use, PC-based, portable analyzer that enables evaluation of air operated control valve systems without having to remove the valve from the process piping.
The ValScope system records and stores test data and generates a set of valve signatures that permits the following parameters to be automatically determined (comparison may also be made between the actual and specified values). A diagnostician then uses the data, his field experience and the ValScope analysis program to develop a prognosis of the valve's condition.
- Bench set
- Valve stroke length
- Air supply pressure and volume
- Dynamic response
- Actuator spring rate
- Positioner dynamic response, linearity, zero and span
- Travel adjustment
ValScope System Features
- Easy-to-use Windows Operating System
- ValScope application
- Computer based training tool
- Portable, self-contained unit
- Industrial grade Pentium® computer
- High resolution color screen
- Field printing capabilities
- 10 inputs and 3 outputs
- Internal modem for comunication with HART® devices
- Will work on any manufacturers pneumatic valve
(rotary or linear)
ValScope analysis data can be used to:
- Diagnose faults in complete valve systems (valve, actuator, positioner, I/P
converter, solenoid valves, and limit switches)
- Evaluate performance of each element within the system
- Compare current performance with previous test results or reference standards
- Detect potential problems before they become critical and costly to correct.
Air Operated Valve Diagnostic Testing
Diagnostic testing is used to acquire air operated valve static and dynamic data to:
- Verify conformance with design requirements
- Establish a historical database of equipment performance
- Accurately determine component hysteresis and stroke time
- Identify a performance problem, or eliminate a component as the possible cause of a problem
