AVON, MASS. (Oct. 3, 2006)-Masoneilan, a leading valve supplier to the automated process control industry and a division of Dresser, Inc., has introduced a new double-acting Masoneilan FVP® (Fieldbus Valve Positioner) intelligent digital valve positioner.

This new Masoneilan positioner is certified by the Fieldbus FOUNDATION and can be mounted on double-acting actuators of any manufacturer. "The new double-acting pneumatics design of the Masoneilan FVP positioner uses proven-in-use technology that is more forgiving to air born contaminants and requires less maintenance in comparison to designs by others," said Sandro Esposito, product manager at Masoneilan. "In addition, the use of a non-contact position sensor mechanism truly eliminates the potential for wear of the valve position feedback sensor." With features such as Automatic Stops and Automatic Tuning, the Masoneilan FVP positioner is calibrated and commissioned in a matter of a few minutes.

The new Masoneilan FVP positioner is registered to the latest Fieldbus FOUNDATION'S Interoperability Testing Kit (ITK 4.61) and it can be easily integrated with various control systems supporting FOUNDATION fieldbus Device Descriptors. In addition, the new Masoneilan FVP positioner and its diagnostics can be integrated with various leading software for asset management.
